    Annecy-le-Vieux: A Lakeside District Guide

Annecy-le-Vieux sits on the north-eastern shore of Lake Annecy, a short hop from the old town and well placed for the lakeside greenway. Here is what the district offers as a weekend base, from the cycle tunnel and the Voie verte to the old canals you can walk to.

Cran-Gevrier, Annecy: A District Guide for a Short Break

Cran-Gevrier became part of Annecy in 2017 and works as a low-key, riverside half-day rather than a substitute for the lakeside old town. La Turbine, the Thiou heritage and two weekly markets give it a shape you can plan around, with Chorus as the natural starting point.

Les Balmettes, Annecy: A Local District Guide

Les Balmettes is a residential quarter of Annecy rather than a sightseeing district, and the one landmark with a public footprint is a secondary school. Use it as a quiet base if you want everyday Annecy, and skip it if your weekend is built around the lakefront and the old town.

Seynod, Annecy: What to See in Annecy's Hilltop District

Seynod is a delegated commune of Annecy in Haute-Savoie, a spread-out residential district on the hills above the lake rather than a lakeside quarter. Its draws are a small old core around the Saint-Martin hill, two castles, a Wednesday and a Saturday food market, a 400-seat auditorium and a pool complex. Plan it as a half-day with a car.
